Laminitis Prevention Club Membership and Online Learning Policy & Terms

1. About the Club

The Laminitis Prevention Club is an online educational membership club operated jointly by Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care and Horse Weighbridge North East Limited.

The purpose of the club is to provide horse owners with exclusive online educational content relating to laminitis prevention, weight management, nutrition, monitoring, and general equine welfare.

This is a collaborative venture between the two organisations named above.

2. Membership Fee

  • Membership costs £20.00 per year.

  • The fee is payable in advance at the time of joining.

  • Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of payment unless otherwise stated.

3. What Members Receive

Members will receive access to exclusive online content, which may include:

  • Educational videos

  • Webinars and live online sessions

  • Downloadable guides and resources

  • Weight management and laminitis prevention information

  • Member-only updates and announcements

  • Access to selected expert content from Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care and Horse Weighbridge North East Limited

The content provided may change over time and the club reserves the right to add, remove, or update materials as required.

4. Membership Access

  • Access is for the named individual member only.

  • Login details must not be shared with other individuals.

  • The club may suspend or terminate access if account sharing or misuse is identified.

5. Renewals

  • Membership may be offered on an annual renewal basis.

  • Members will be notified before their membership expires where contact details are available.

  • Failure to renew will result in loss of access to member-only content.

6. Refund Policy

As membership provides immediate access to digital content:

  • Refunds are not normally available once access to the member area has been granted.

  • If a payment has been made in error, members should contact the club within 14 days of purchase.

  • Any refund requests will be considered in accordance with UK consumer law.

7. Educational Information and Veterinary Disclaimer

The Laminitis Prevention Club provides general educational information only.

  • The content is not a substitute for an individual veterinary examination, diagnosis, or treatment plan.

  • Members should seek advice from their own veterinary surgeon regarding any specific horse, pony, or medical condition.

  • Access to the club does not create a veterinary-client-patient relationship with Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care unless a separate veterinary consultation has been arranged.

8. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

All videos, documents, graphics, presentations, and other materials provided through the club remain the intellectual property of Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care, Horse Weighbridge North East Limited, or their content contributors.

Members may:

  • View content for personal educational use.

Members may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, or share content publicly.

  • Upload club materials to other websites, social media platforms, or file-sharing services without written permission.

9. Member Conduct

Members are expected to engage respectfully within any online community, webinar, or discussion area associated with the club.

The club reserves the right to remove access without refund where a member:

  • Abuses staff or other members

  • Posts defamatory, offensive, or unlawful content

  • Misuses club resources or intellectual property

10. Data Protection and Privacy

Personal information provided during registration will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information may be used to:

  • Manage membership accounts

  • Provide access to content

  • Send membership-related communications

  • Notify members of renewals, events, or club updates

Members may request access to their personal data or ask for corrections by contacting the club.

11. Changes to the Club or This Policy

Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care and Horse Weighbridge North East Limited reserve the right to:

  • Update this policy from time to time

  • Modify the content offered within the club

  • Change membership features or pricing for future membership periods

Any significant changes will be communicated to members where reasonably practicable.

12. Limitation of Liability
